The subscribe page

Open in ChatGPT

Every subscribe calendar gets its own page at

https://app.kalender-sync.de/subscribe/cal_XXXXXXXXXXXX

You can link to it, print it as a QR code or share it in newsletters. The button for your website also leads visitors there when they pick “Other app”.

  • Banner, logo and name of your calendar, with the description below. → Branding
  • Organizer with a link to your website and, if set, a contact link by email.
  • Upcoming events, if you allow it: title, date, time, location and a short description. The page shows events of the next twelve months, at most 50. Times are shown in the calendar’s time zone; visitors in another time zone can switch to their own.
  • The “Subscribe to calendar” button with the choice of calendar app.
  • Sharing: links for WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and email, the device’s share menu (where available) and a QR code drawn in the browser.
  • A short explanation of what subscribing means, and the line “We don’t record who subscribes.”
  • A “Report this page” link in case someone wants to report abuse.

The page appears in the language you set for the calendar (English or German).

The menu lists:

EntryWhat happens
Apple CalendarOpens the subscription dialog on iPhone, iPad or Mac (webcal://).
Google CalendarOpens Google Calendar in the browser with the subscription.
Microsoft 365Opens Outlook on the web for work and school accounts.
Outlook.comOpens Outlook on the web for personal Microsoft accounts.
Outlook (desktop)Opens the installed Outlook app (webcal://).
Other appShows the feed link to copy, for any app that can subscribe to a calendar by URL.

The page moves the app that fits the visitor’s device to the top, for example Apple Calendar on an iPhone.

  • No cookie banner, no trackers. The page only loads from our own domain. The share buttons are plain links; the QR code is drawn in the browser.
  • We don’t record who subscribes. Every subscription gets its own feed link so we can count how many calendar apps fetch the calendar. We store no IP address and no user agent for it.
  • If a visitor already subscribed, the page points that out. This information lives only in the visitor’s browser (localStorage), not with us.
  • Subscribe pages are not indexable by search engines (noindex). Visitors arrive through your website, your button or your links.

Calendars created with a sandbox key show a “Test calendar” note at the top of the subscribe page. In the feed their name starts with [TEST]. That way nobody mistakes a test calendar for the real one. → Plans and limits

When you delete a subscribe calendar, its subscribe page goes offline. The feed keeps serving an empty calendar for 30 days, with a note that the publisher removed it. That way the events disappear for existing subscribers too. After that the feed answers 410 Gone.
