# Connection fails

Connecting a calendar account aborts or ends with an error? Here's the quick triage.

## By error message

| You see … | Cause & fix |
| --- | --- |
| "Need admin approval" (Microsoft) | Your organisation blocks third-party apps — the most common case → [three ways out](https://docs.kalender-sync.de/en/connect-calendar/org-blocked/) |
| "App blocked" / "not verified by your administrator" (Google Workspace) | Same topic on Google's side → [three ways out](https://docs.kalender-sync.de/en/connect-calendar/org-blocked/) |
| "Sign-in failed" (Apple / KSuite) | Almost always the wrong password: it needs an **app-specific password**, not your regular one → [Apple](https://docs.kalender-sync.de/en/connect-calendar/apple-icloud/), [KSuite](https://docs.kalender-sync.de/en/connect-calendar/ksuite/) |
| "Feed could not be added" (iCal) | Check the URL: reachable? Really an `.ics`/`webcal` address? Only HTTPS is accepted → [iCal feed](https://docs.kalender-sync.de/en/connect-calendar/ical-feed/) |
| "The calendar could not be created at your provider" (while setting up a sync) | The provider — practically always Infomaniak/KSuite — did not provision the new target calendar. Create the calendar directly at the provider and pick it as an existing calendar in the wizard → [KSuite guide](https://docs.kalender-sync.de/en/connect-calendar/ksuite/) |
| "The calendar '…' no longer exists at your provider" (while setting up a sync) | The chosen calendar was deleted at the provider but was still listed in the picker. Refresh the calendar list and choose another calendar |
| Limit notice in the connect dialog | Your plan's account limit is reached → [Plans & limits](https://docs.kalender-sync.de/en/account-billing/plans-limits/) |

## When the sign-in just "doesn't go through"

- **Picked the wrong account**: with several Google/Microsoft accounts in the browser, watch the account picker — when in doubt, private window.
- **Permission declined**: removing checkboxes or declining in the consent dialog aborts the connection — repeat and confirm everything ([why the permissions are needed](https://docs.kalender-sync.de/en/privacy-it/permissions/)).
- **Pop-up blocker**: the provider window sometimes opens as a pop-up — allow it briefly and retry.

## Connected, but nothing happens?

Then it's not a connection issue but a sync one → [Sync not working — checklist](https://docs.kalender-sync.de/en/troubleshooting/sync-not-working/)
