# Multiple source calendars in one sync

A sync can be fed from **multiple source calendars** — across all your connected accounts. All busy times land in the target calendar combined.

## How it works

In the **"Calendars"** step during setup, simply tick several calendars — e.g. Personal, Club and Family. Every busy slot from each of these calendars creates a blocker in the target:

```text
Personal ──┐
Club ──────┼──→ Work calendar
Family ────┘
```

If a calendar is missing from the list, you can connect another account right from that step — your progress is kept.

## One sync or several?

**One sync with multiple sources** when …

- all sources should share the same [visibility level](https://docs.kalender-sync.de/en/sync/visibility-levels/) and [placeholder title](https://docs.kalender-sync.de/en/sync/placeholder-title/),
- you simply want to keep it simple (one sync = one entry in the dashboard).

**Separate syncs** when …

- the receiving side should distinguish *what* blocks them ("Private" vs. "Side project" instead of "Blocked" twice),
- sources need different visibility (e.g. family "Busy only", side project "Title + time"),
- you want to [pause or end](https://docs.kalender-sync.de/en/sharings/pause-end/) individual sources independently later.

Separate syncs count individually against your [plan limit](https://docs.kalender-sync.de/en/account-billing/plans-limits/) — so the bundled variant is also the thriftier one.

## Changing sources later

Sources can be changed at any time via the sharing's three-dot menu → **"Edit"** — new sources are fully backfilled, removed sources clean up their copies in the target automatically → [Edit a sharing](https://docs.kalender-sync.de/en/sync/freigabe-bearbeiten/).
